Hamilton Colwell, Founder
Hamilton grew up in suburban Connecticut as the oldest of 3 children. Ever since he was a little kid, he exhibited traits of an entrepreneur. After graduating from Colgate University in 2001, Hamilton ventured into the restaurant world. Definitely not your average post college restaurant employee, he traveled to experience the industry from Colorado to the Island of Martha’s Vineyard to Germany, before he settled in New York City.
Hamilton spent five years working in the investment banking world, enjoying fast-paced world of the financial markets. In 2007, things changed. He witnessed his first real ‘pregnant’ friend go through 34 weeks of pregnancy, and was compelled to help. He combined his love for yogurt and family, with his entrepreneurial spirit, to bring Maia Yogurt to the world. Hamilton spends much of his time traveling and sharing the Maia Love, but misses the serenity of Martha’s Vineyard where he can turn back the clock, kick back and enjoy the island.

Our Junior Team
A rising Senior at the University of Connecticut, Cristina developed her passion for marketing as a child after falling in love with a Barbie News Anchor Set. She began to find ways to immerse herself in journalism, digital media and advertising. Initially, Cristina began her career as a cashier at McDonald’s. Although, unrelated to her field of interest, she learned the ins and outs of the fast-food industry. This is how she realized big corporations abuse their power and underutilize their platform. Cristina joined Maia Yogurt because she believes in the product and the potential Maia possesses. When she isn’t pursuing her passions, you can find her reading books under the sun. She also enjoys painting when she feels particularly inspired.
