Patriotic Snacks You’ll Love!

On the 4th of July, we celebrate the freedom and independence of the original 13 colonies. Some of us will march in parades, set off fireworks, play ball, and (our personal favorite) attend picnics and backyard barbeques. Don’t fret on what to bring, we have a few desserts that are simple to make, and everyone will love! From picky eaters to moms and kids alike. This year is #MaiaTime2Shine, or in this case, yours! Just follow a few easy steps and you’ll be the talk of the party for sure.

We know your kiddos are running around in some festive red, white, and blue outfits. We also know that clean clothes don’t last too long when it comes to playing outside. So, we’d like to introduce you to Patriotic Yogurt BitesThis is the perfect neat sweet treat your kids can grab and continue playing without leaving a trail behind.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Ice cube Silicone Mold

Next,

  1. Dice your strawberries and halve your blueberries. (Make sure to put the blueberries round side down and dice the strawberries into very tiny pieces.)
  2. Place them in a silicone mold and cover with vanilla bean Maia yogurt.
  3. Leave them in the freezer for about 2 hours to chill.
  4. Now, they are ready to eat!

Stars & Stripes & Fro-Yo Bites

We would like to preface that although Maia is a #LessSweetTreat, the following dessert may not be the healthiest but it sure is delicious. Let’s salute to Patriotic Frozen Yogurt Stars

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Silicone Star Mold
  • Squeeze Bottle or Sandwich Bag
  • Vanilla Bean Maia Yogurt
  • Granola
  • Red, White, and Blue Candy Melts

Next,

  1. Mix approximately 1/2 cup of granola and 1 – 2 tablespoons of the vanilla bean Maia yogurt.
  2. Take about a teaspoon of the granola mixture and press it into the bottom of the stars.
  3. Then spoon in the vanilla yogurt overtop until the stars are full.
  4. Leave them in the freezer to freeze
  5. Begin decorating all the stars with one color at a time, keeping them frozen between each color. (To decorate, take a small sandwich bag and cut a tiny hole in the corner. Then melt the candy melts in the microwave, in small time increments, stirring in between. Once you have the right consistency, spoon the chocolate into the sandwich bag. Gently squeeze the bag creating a nice chocolate drizzle.)
  6.  Now, they are ready to eat!
